F500 Elite Fieldbus Gateway (H)
The F500 is a communications gateway that allows for single point access to a maximum of four T500 Elite Hotbus™ systems via a Fieldbus protocol. Fieldbus communication protocols supported include: Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, DeviceNet, Profibus and others.
R500 Elite Alarm Relay Interface
The R500 is a microprocessor-controlled unit, which accepts signals from the T500 Elite Hotbus™ monitor, and is able to cause alarm or shutdown of equipment when a sensor exceeds its programmed alarm tolerance.
Hotbox Node - SN2 (Speed Node)
The SN2 is a two input speed node, powered by 24 VDC. The node is able to monitor two independent pulse (speed) sources for dangerous under speed conditions. The SN2 will support pulses which are PNP or sourced. The Node has a unique 4 digit address which is used to communicate to the T500 via a two wire RS485 connection. The SN2 processes information from electrical inputs into network data. The data is passed down the network whilst local relays are activated for shutdown / alarm procedures.
Hotbox Node - TN4 (Input Node)
The TN4 is a four input sensor node, powered by 24 VDC. Each input can be an NTC thermistor, PTC thermistor or Volt-Free Contact input; the types may be interchanged on a single node. The Node has a unique 4 digit address which is used to communicate to the T500 via a two wire serial RS485 connection. The TN4 Node processes information from electrical inputs into network data inputs for WDB, Binswitch or Touchswitch.
Hotbus™ Node Tester
The Hotbus Node Tester is a portable testing unit that can be used in the field to determine the operational status of any Hotbus communications node and network to quickly identify wiring or node issues.
Simply plug the network connection cable directly to the node. A digital display on the tester will show the status of the node which can determine if the node is operating correctly. The unit can also be connected to a PC for more detailed diagnostics data.
SpeedMaster™
The SpeedMaster™ with Pulse Pilot is the only device that accurately tests the calibration of a speed switch, and allows testing of the 10% alarm and 20% shutdown features of the sensor while installed on the machine shaft.
The SpeedMaster™ operates in two modes. Input mode is used to measure the pulse rate at normal speed. Output mode will allow the user to simulate belt underspeed for testing purposes.
The Pulse Pilot fits between the gap between the sensor and the target. The Pulse Pilot will have no effect on the operation of the speed switch until it is connected to the SpeedMaster™ and set to Output mode.
ADB Bearing Sensor Tester
The ADB Sensor Tester has been designed to test 4B adjustable depth bearing (ADB) style temperature sensors in the field. This hand held test unit features an integrated heating block specifically designed to have a 4B ADB sensor directly inserted.
With integral controls and temperature display, the unit heats the sensor to the desired trip point, and allows quick and easy real life testing of the sensor and temperature monitoring system.
During planned maintenance or periodic testing, the ADB Sensor Tester can be used as a diagnostic tool to verify the alarm and shutdown sequences of the control unit are functioning as expected. To test, the heater block should be set above the control units alarm operating temperature. Remove the ADB bearing sensor probe from the housing and insert it into the heater block. As the heater block reaches the alarm temperature, the ADB sensor will relay this data to the control unit, allowing you to verify that the alarm and shutdown sequences run as expected.
Sensors
Touchswitch™
The Touchswitch is an electro-mechanical limit switch with no moving parts, which detects tracking and misalignment problems on bucket elevators and conveyors. When a belt misaligns or a pulley moves over and contacts the sensor, the built in solid-state electronic circuitry detects the lateral force of the belt or pulley and activates a voltage free solid state relay output. This output signal is used to immediately alarm and ultimately shutdown the machine.
The face of the sensor is made from hardened and annealed stainless steel, not soft brass or aluminium, so wear life is longer when a belt contacts it. The Touchswitch is not affected by dust or material build up and will still work when completely covered by material. An external test wheel allows for quick and simple sensor/system testing. The sensors are usually installed in pairs on opposite sides of the machine. The sensors can be connected directly to a PLC input, or for greater safety, to a central independent monitoring system, such as Watchdog Super Elite, IE-Node or the T500 Hotbus system.
ADB Series Bearing Sensors
The ADB series have been designed to allow the depth of the sensor to be adjustable depending on your application. A number of versions are available with probe lengths of 50, 100, 200 and 300 mm. The sensors screw directly into a bearing housing through a 1/4” BSPT threaded grease zerk. Each sensor is fitted with a grease zerk to allow lubrication of the bearing without the need for removal of the sensor. The ADB series have NTC or PT100 type thermistors which allow for continuous temperature monitoring.
The sensor is supplied with a 3m attached cable and can be connected to a PLC or to a hazard monitoring system, such as 4B’s Watchdog Super Elite, T500 Hotbus Elite or T400 NTC Elite. The connections are not polarity sensitive therefore special connection requirements are eliminated, and the cable can be extended in the field.
WDB Series Bearing Sensors
The WDB series bearing sensors are designed to screw directly into a bearing housing. Each sensor is fitted with a grease zerk to allow lubrication of the bearing without the need for removal of the sensor.
The WDB8 series have a 1/4” BSPT thread. The WDB2 series have a 1/8” NPT thread. Three versions are available; an NTC thermistor or Pt100 RTD type for continuous temperature monitoring, and a PTC thermistor model with the following trip points (specify when ordering): 60°C, 70°C, 80°C, 90°C for step (Cold/Hot) temperature monitoring.
The sensor is supplied with a three meter attached cable and can be connected to a hazard monitoring system, such as 4B’s T500 Hotbus Elite, Watchdog Super Elite, or T400 Elite or to a PLC. The connections are not polarity sensitive therefore special connection requirements are eliminated, and the cable can be extended in the field.
WDB7 Lug Style Bearing Sensors
The WDB7 series is a lug style NTC thermistor or platinum RTD (PT100) type for continuous temperature monitoring. It is designed to bolt directly onto a bearing housing, motor, gearbox, or machine casing. The mounting hole is M8 which can be drilled out up to M10 diameter. The sensor can be connected to a PLC or to a hazard monitoring system, such as 4B’s T500 Hotbus Elite, Watchdog Super Elite, or T400 Elite. The connections are not polarity sensitive therefore special connections requirements are eliminated. The WDB7 series is approved for use in ATEX and IECEx Zone 20 dust hazard locations.
MDB Series Bearing Sensors
The MDB series is a range of bearing sensors manufactured to screw directly into a bearing housing through the existing 1/4” BSPT threaded grease zerk (can be installed in 1/8” NPT grease zerk fitting with an adapter). Each sensor is fitted with a grease zerk to allow lubrication of the bearing without the need for removal of the sensor. The sensor is fitted with a M12 connector for use with a separately supplied cable and socket assembly which can be attached connected directly to a PLC or to a hazard monitoring system, such as 4B’s T500 Hotbus Elite, Watchdog Super Elite, or T400 / T400 NTC Elite. The connections are not polarity sensitive therefore special connection requirements are eliminated. Four versions are available, a NTC thermistor model or PT100 type for continuous temperature monitoring, and PTC or Contact thermistor models with five trip points (60°C, 70°C, 80°C).
M3003, M3008 & M3007 Slipswitch
The M300 Slipswitch is an easy-to-use inductive proximity shaft speed monitoring device with an adjustable 0 - 30 second start-up delay, all housed in a 30 mm diameter moulded body. The self-contained unit has a single set point, which signals when the shaft speed has dropped by 20% of normal running speed. It is used for detecting dangerous slow down and underspeed conditions on conveyors, bucket elevators, air locks, mixers, fans, grinders and many other machines.
No connection is necessary between the sensor and the equipment being monitored. The proximity sensor detects a stud or bolt mounted on a shaft, or other suitable target. Ideally, the target should be of ferrous metal, but non-ferrous metal will be detected at a shorter range. Maximum range of ferrous targets is 8 mm (5/16”) and for non-ferrous targets is 5 mm (6/16”), assuming a 20 mm (3/4”) diameter target. Smaller targets may be used but operating distances will be reduced.
Binswitch Elite Capacitive Sensor
Detects level or plug situations for bulk granular solids or liquids in tanks, bins, or silos and can be used as a plug or choke detector in chutes, conveyors and elevator legs.
Auto-Set
The Auto-Set series RF capacitance point level monitors are used for detecting high, intermediate, or low levels of liquids, powders and free flowing granular solids stored in tanks, bins, silos or other containers.
The Auto-Set series incorporates simple push-button calibration with microprocessor enable/disable switch for total protection of stored values. Once the Auto-Set is calibrated for the application it never has to be re-calibrated. Data is stored in non-volatile memory so it is not affected by power loss. The Auto-Set Remote is top or side mountable with stainless steel probes lengths up to 10m long, and can be used with container walls up to 7.5cm thick.
RLI Shaker
The RLI “SHAKER” rotary paddle switch is used to detect high and low levels of bulk granular solids in bins, tanks and silos. It can also be used to detect plug conditions in spouts, where long life and fail-safe detection is required.
Utilizing a unique stepper motor drive, the RLI “SHAKER” rotates clockwise, then counter-clockwise and then shakes to shed any excess material build up. If the paddle rotation is impeded at any time by the bulk material then the electronic circuit provides a signal for level indication or control. The RLI “SHAKER” uses fewer mechanical parts compared with standard rotary level indicators. No gearbox or clutch is required as the stepper motor drive is directly coupled to the output shaft and is practically indestructible and cannot be damaged by forced or backwards rotation. Also, an adjustable torque control allows one unit to cover many different densities of material, and provides easy on site calibration without having to change paddles.
RLI
The RLI rotary paddle switch is designed to detect high and low levels of bulk granular solids in bins, tanks, silos, and as blockage detectors in spouts. The detection of material is achieved by a rotating paddle. If material impedes the rotation of the paddle, the motor topples of its axis and triggers a contact. The power supply to the motor is cut and the contact signals that a critical level has been reached, which will cause the motor for any inlet or outlet to close down or start up. When the level of the material reaches normal levels again, the motor returns to its initial position and restarts.
