The WDB83x series is a range of contact bearing sensors designed for over-temperature protection of bearings, manufactured to screw directly into a bearing housing. Each sensor is fitted with a grease nipple to allow lubrication of the bearing without the need for removal of the sensor. The sensor has a fixed two core cable ready for connection either directly to a monitoring device or to a junction box.
All contact sensor models in this series are normally in the closed position allowing electricity to flow through the circuit. When the temperature exceeds a preset trip temperature, the bimetal element opens to break the circuit. Circuit is restored when temperature drops below the Reset temperature limit. These sensors are mainly used for over temperature protection in industrial applications.
The sensor is supplied with a three meter attached cable and can be connected to a hazard monitoring system, such as 4B’s IE-Node or Watchdog Super Elite or to a PLC. The connections are not polarity sensitive therefore special connection requirements are eliminated, and the cable can be extended in the field.
